Erasmus Vogl founded his studio in 2000 in Boston and is now residing in Cologne, Germany. He holds a M.Phil. from Cambridge University, UK and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and was a visiting scientist at Jawaharlal Nehru Center, Bangalore, India, Tokyo University, Japan, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA.
His studio produces a large variety of works, from botanical drawings, zoological drawings, ceramics, photography to model furniture objects. He is also active in restoration projects. Since the beginning the studio focused on continuation rather than disruption and is considered the insider tip among contemporary renaissance art.
Erasmus Vogl has travelled extensively and has visited most of the historic architecture of Europe, all the major historic art museums globally and many locations relevant for natural history and exploration. His studio also houses a collection of mollusks and a collection of coleoptera.
His recent exhibitions have received critical acclaim by a select circle of connoisseurs.
